Happy Monday!!! I hope you had a great weekend! This past weekend was Valentines Day and since hubs and I had our monthly date night the weekend prior, we decided to host our first game night on the 14th! It was REALLY fun! We’re not big on entertaining lol! We’re usually the ones being invited so it was fun to switch things up a bit!

OMGosh y’all, this week I fly to Georgia for my sewing class! To say I’m a ball of nerves is an understatement! I’ve literally gave myself a self-induced headache! LOL! I’m praying I’ll chill out soon! But first let’s talk about this out of print (OOP) Vogue top I made!

Pattern Used: I used Vogue 8977 for this top and I made View C on the pattern. The pattern in OOP but here are some I found sold from other sites online . Amazon, The Textile District, Pattern-Walk.

Pattern Description: Misses Top very loose-fitting top has front pleats, shaped hemline, wrong side shows on back hemline, and back button band. B and C: sleeve bands.

Pattern Sewing Level: This is a confident beginner pattern. If you can create pleats, and add a sleeve band, you can be successful with this pattern.

What size did you cut?: I cut the L with top. This top is VERY loose, and I could’ve cut the M but I had the larger pattern envelope so I just went with the L.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes they were. I had no problems with the instructions or the pattern illustrations.

What did you like or dislike about the pattern? I LOVE the back detail on this pattern! Very unexpected when only looking at the front. I love the length of the top and its really comfortable. It is a little oversized for me but I think had I cut a smaller size it wouldn’t be an issue. I was also excited to see that back buttons are only sewn on. It’s no buttonholes on the placket which was a pleasant surprise to me LOL!

Did you make any pattern alterations: I made View C with the cuff, but ended up cutting it off because the sleeves were too long for me. I decided to just cut the cuff off right at the seam and create an elastic casing for the sleeves.

Where did you purchase the fabric(s)? My fabric was gifted to me from Sewing Studio. It’s a Bali Rayon Print Crosshatch in Turquoise and Sherbert. This fabric is so pretty! It reminds me of Spring and Summer. Beautiful drape, easy to wear and wash and can be made in many garments like, a kimono, button up, gathered dress/skirt, ruffle dress just to name a few!

Did you record a sew along for this pattern? I did not record a sew along for this top!

Would you sew it again? Probably not. I really like the back but not enough to make it again! My mom actually loves this top, so I’m going to gift it to her!

Would you recommend it to others? I do! If you can find this pattern, make it! It’s a beautiful, comfortable top, that will be great as a top or dress!

Well thats all for today! Thank you so much for stopping by! Until next time….

Blessings,
