Let's Sew Loungewear: simplicity 9020: Husqvarna Viking

IMG_6332.jpg

Hey everybody! Happy Wednesday! I hope you all are doing well and staying healthy! Things have been interesting around here! This week I’ve started homeschooling our children and while this is something I’d started to research a month ago, having to jump into it immediately without full preparation was overwhelming to say the least! Lol! Each day is getting better though and one thing thats helped me was getting dressed. While I do want to stay comfy (I mean, I am at home), I also don’t want to stay in my pajamas all day!

So I started making some loungewear sets, and no, it’s not helping me learning fractions any faster lol. It is however helping me mentally (prayer is helping first), changes my mood, and thats really all I can ask for! So now that many of us are working for home, It’s the perfect time to sew up some great loungewear sets! Let’s get started with Simplicity 9020!

the details

Pattern Used: For this set, I used Simplicity 9020 and I made View A and C from the pattern.

Pattern Description: Loose-fitting top with dropped shoulders. Pull-on jogger bottoms or shorts with side-pockets. Pattern includes sleep mask and 'scrunchie’ hairband. *description from Simplicity website.

Pattern Sewing Level: The sewing level for this pattern is Easy!

What size did you cut?: I cut the M for my top and the XXL for the pants. Please look at the finished garment measurements for this top. It has a lot of ease in it. I normally cut a L but the M was perfect.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, the instructions are great and easy to follow.

Where did you purchase the fabric(s)? I purchased my fabric here from my local Joann. Its so soft and great for a loungewear set.

Did you record a sew along for this pattern? Yes I did! This is the first video in our loungewear set mini series. You can watch it here! The second video will be for the pants so stay tuned for that next week!

I’m also really excited about this series because I’ll be sharing some of the amazing features from my new HUSQVARNA VIKING Designer Epic 2 sewing machine, the mySewnet library, and two other videos in the series that will go perfectly with our loungewear set!

Would you sew it again? Absolutely! This is a great set and I love the way it came together!

Would you recommend it to others? YES!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! Be sure stay tuned for all the videos in this new series with HUSQVARNA VIKING making our own loungewear! Until next time…

Blessings,
