IMG_6158.jpg

Hey everybody! Happy Tuesday! Hope you all are doing well and staying safe! I am so excited to finally share this dress with you today! I shared a couple pics on Instagram last week, and y’all really loved it and the fabric! I’m so happy Sewing Studio has more yardage in stock. Before we get to fabric links, lets get into the details and my review of this dress.

the details

Pattern Used: I used McCalls 8030 for this dress, and made View C from the pattern.

Pattern Description: Dress in 3 lengths has button front, collar and band, front and back yokes, side seam pockets, A, B: belt with D-rings. *description from McCalls website

Pattern Sewing Level: This pattern sewing level is rated Easy. It has yokes, buttonholes, buttons, collar and side seam pocket. If you are comfortable with sewing those, you can make this pattern.

What size did you cut?: I cut the L for the bodice and waist and graded to the XL around the hips down to the hem.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes they were. I had no problems following along with the illustrations, and instructions.

What did you like or dislike about the pattern? No dislikes. I was in love with this pattern at first sight. I really like the fabric used on the pattern model. The stripe fabric sold me. I quickly went on the hunt for a great stripe fabric to use myself. I love the hemline of View C, and it has pockets! Win Win!

Did you make any pattern alterations: I did not make any adjustments to this pattern other than merging the pattern lines.

Where did you purchase the fabric(s)? This fabric was gifted to me from Sewing Studio. This shop has beautiful fabrics in stock especially their Rayons.

Did you record a sew along for this pattern? No, I did not record a sew along for this pattern.

Would you sew it again? I would sew this again. I really love this dress and the fabric I used. I will get a lot of wear from this one!

Would you recommend it to others? Yes! It’s a great shirtdress pattern. Sews up easy and it’s really comfy. I’ll pair this with some white sneakers for a great casual on the go look too.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! I hope you’re staying safe, positive and doing well mentally, spiritually and physically! Until next time….

Blessings,
