Multi Stripe Rib Knit Dress: simplicity 8595
Happy Friday everyone! Today I am sharing a quick and easy sew! After making my previous projects, the shirred bodice dress, the Mimi G x Simplicity pink cami and pants set, and Gilbert top and Pietra pants, I was ready for something super easy! Lol! I recently received from Rib Knit from La Finch Fabrics and immediately saw a t-shirt dress, so that’s what I made! Let’s get into the details.

Pattern Used: I used Simplicity 8595 to make this dress. I used View A length with View D sleeves.
Pattern Description: Create our easy-to-sew knit dress for Misses sizes XS - XL with sleeve and length variations. Sleeve options include cold shoulder, sleeveless or short sleeve. All views feature a crew neckline and can be made in mini or maxi length. *description from Simplicity website.
Pattern Sewing Level: Sewing Level is: Easy.
What size did you cut?: I cut the L for the bodice and waist and XL for the hips.
Were the instructions easy to follow? I only looked at the instructions to check the seam allowance. After that, I put them away and stitched the shoulders first. Attached the neckband. Installed the sleeves using the flat-sleeve method. Stitched the side seams together and hemmed it.
What did you like or dislike about the pattern? No dislikes. It’s a simple, casual everyday dress and those are the types and styles of dresses that I wear most!
Did you make any pattern alterations: Other than adjusting the size, I did not.
Where did you purchase the fabric(s)? My fabric was gifted from La Finch Fabrics. They have some really nice new rib knits in stock!
Did you record a sew along for this pattern? I did not record a sew along for this pattern.
Would you sew it again? Yes! I definitely would. Its a great dress when you need to sew something fast to get your sewjo back, and a great everyday dress.
Would you recommend it to others? Yes I would.
