Satin Pajamas Set: mccalls 7976 + simplicity 8605

Hey everybody! Happy Wednesday! I hope your week is going great! Today, I am finally sharing this satin pajama look that I’ve had done for a couple month now! I was inspired to create a pajama look because I loved the trend that was happening last year and just wanted to jump on the bandwagon! I am so happy I gave it a go, because these are two pieces that I will wear together and as separates! Let’s get into the details!

Pattern Used: For this look, I used McCalls 7976 View A for the top and Simplicity 8605 View A for the pants. This was my second time making these pants and you can check out the review for those here.

Pattern Description: For McCalls 7976: Very loose-fitting tops have yoke back, front shoulder and back pleats, and front button closing. B: Flounce and ties. C: Cuffs. D:Tie ends. C, D: Shaped hemline. *(description from McCalls website)

Pattern Sewing Level: This pattern is rated Easy! I would agree with that! If you can sew on buttonholes and attached a facing, you can nail this top!

What size did you cut?: I cut the M in this top! I originally bought the larger size pattern, out of habit, only to realize I needed the smaller one. The top is really oversized, so if you’re interested definitely check the bust measurement before you buy it!

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, they were easy to follow and understand.

What did you like or dislike about the pattern? No dislikes, and I don’t have any major likes other than it being a super quick and easy top to whip up! I would revisit this pattern later because I love the different variations on the pattern like the tie on View D!

Did you make any pattern alterations: No adjustments were made. I did add covered buttons using a kit from Joann (similar to this one), instead of regular buttons. Just to give it a nice pajama look!

Where did you purchase the fabric(s)? This fabric was gifted to me from Shannon Fabrics. It is a Silky Satin Solid in the color Peacock! This satin is amazing. The color is gorgeous and it was perfect for my pajama look! This would also look amazing in a bias cut skirt, or slip dress! Those are pretty trendy right now too!

Did you record a sew along for this pattern? No I did not record a sew along for this top. It’s a pretty easy project so if you’d like a tutorial, let me know below!

Would you sew it again? Yes I would. I’ll probably go with View D next.

Would you recommend it to others? Yes! Go for it!

Well thats all for todays post! Thank you so much for stopping by! Special thanks to Shannon Fabrics for gifting me this gorgeous fabric! Be sure to follow them on social and see all the beautiful project made with their fabrics!

Until next time,

Blessings,
