Off The Shoulder Shirred Top + Culottes: Sew It Academy

Hi everyone! I’m super excited because today a new course just went live in Sew It Academy and it’s for this shirred top! If you don’t know about Sew It Academy it was founded by Mimi G Style. It’s an online sewing and design school focused on teaching anyone to sew at their own pace for an affordable price! I’m so grateful to be about to teach in the Sew It Academy alongside Mimi G Ford and Norris Danta Ford.

This look is completely self-drafted so no patterns to link today! As much as I love my patterns, it’s so rewarding learning more about how to draft from my own measurements. The culottes are from Course 45 and the shirring top is from Course 46!

exciting news

I also have some exciting news! I’ll be a #justfabpartner from Summer (in my olaf voice LOL)! These white sandals and bag are new in their summer shop! It’s so many great pieces from shoes to accessories and even clothes to shop. I’m not interested in the clothes, but the shoes…YES!

I got a request from my sew sister Dari of @thatstylethough to share a little about the quality of the sandals. I’m really happy with the quality. The materials are faux leather and it’s a sturdy sandal. I can’t speak for all the sandals from the company but I know I’ll get a lot of wear from these. The ties took me a few minutes to adjust too because I haven’t been wearing heels, I’m in the house y’all LOL! And I also don’t have any shoes with only ties across the top. After a couple steps, and making sure the ties weren’t twisted (ouch), I was good to go! I’m really excited to make some garments to pair with the new accessories!
