Ruffle Sleeve Linen Dress: McCalls 7712
Hey everybody! Happy Thursday! On Monday, I shared with you my sewing plans for this week, and I'm so happy to report, I have two of those projects complete. Because I was in love with the rust colored linen, I started with that one first!
I can't say enough good things about this dress. McCalls 7712 will be a re-make for me! I LOVE IT! The seam details, pockets, and ruffles are just perfect! The Paprika linen from The Fabric Store is amazing! I love the quality of their linens and the beautiful colors they stock.
For size, I cut the L, and I'm so happy I did. I thought about cutting the L for the bust and waist and grading to an XL at the hips for extra room. I'm so glad I didn't. With the linen fabric, while I wore it around, it loosen up in hips just the right amount. Had I graded it, it would've been too baggy in the hip area.
I paired my dress with some new wedges I recently bought from Target!
If you're looking for a great summer dress pattern, give this one a try. Its easy to sew. I made mine in a couple hours. The seamlines are great for adjusting your pattern if you need to make alterations. The ruffle detail is cute, but if thats not your jam, the pattern has options without the ruffle on it! And lets not forget....pockets!!!
Thanks so much for stopping my today! I can't want to get started on the 3rd project from this week, and to get started planning out next weeks makes.
Until next time...
Blessings
