raquel bralette: madalynne intimates

Hey everybody! Happy Saturday! I hope you are enjoying your weekend! After making my McCalls 7683 Sequin dress, I wanted to make a couple easy projects before getting started on something more detailed. First, I whipped up my first swimsuit using Megan Nielsen Cottesloe pattern and next I made my third piece of lingerie, the Raquel Bralette from Madalynne Intimates! I tell you, if I wasn’t for Maddie patterns and her lingerie kits, I probably would still be intimated to sew my own lingerie! I have no idea what and where to shop for the proper supplies to make lingerie, but with Maddie kits (everything you need is included in the kit!!!) all I have to do is sew! PERFECT!! So lets chat about my new bralette!

Pattern Used: This pattern is Madalynne Intimates new release, the Raquel Bralette. This is a FREE PDF pattern download!

Pattern Description: With its modern silhouette, the Raquel bralette is what every girl looks for when she wants to feel like herself, but slightly more stylish. It features a cutout at center front and is finished with soft, picot plush elastic and all metal hardware. It has a forgiving fit and lends itself to being layered underneath oversized tops and dresses. (description is from Madalynne Intimates site)

Pattern Sewing Level: Recommended for beginner lingerie makers! Sizes is available for XS-3XL.

What size did you cut?: I cut the XL and the fit is perfect! My band size is a 40 for reference.

Were the instructions easy to follow? YES! They were easy to follow however I did watch her video tutorial for this bralette more and only glance at the written instructions a couple times! The times I did, they were perfect and in line with her videos!

What did you like or dislike about the pattern? I really love how easy it came together! Like I said, this is only my third lingerie make so I’m still on the beginner level, but with each project I think I get better. I love the beautiful lace and notions that came in her kit for this pattern! Everything is of great quality and you get PLENTY of lace! I probably can squeeze out about bra if I wanted too!

Did you make any pattern alterations: I added an extra elastic strip in the front. So I have three instead of two. Gives it a little more support.

Where did you purchase the fabric(s)? I use this lingerie kit from Madalynne Intimates.

Did you record a sew along for this pattern? No! I don’t record videos for patterns designed by indie pattern makers. Out of respect for them, their time, and business, I’d rather refer you to the blog posts or video they create for their own pattern! Here’s the video tutorials Maddie created for her new bralette!

Would you sew it again? YES! Can definitely see myself making a couple more! It was really comfortable to wear! It felt like I had on a super sexy sports bra!

Would you recommend it to others? YES!! If you want to try your hand at lingerie, this is a great pattern, plus having a video to follow makes it even better to ensure you’re sewing it correctly!

Thank you all so much for stopping by the blog! I hope you enjoyed the post! Let me know below if you’ve tried making lingerie before!

Until next time…

Blessings
