Pink Linen Set: Simplicity 8090 & 8092
Hey everybody! Happy Friday! Lately I have been really into matching sets! Whether its a cool short and jacket combo like I made here or a cute top and bottom like this look, I want everything to match! LOL! I think they are great not only to wear together but to mix and match with other pieces in my closet!
Todays look is definitely a top favorite of mine! I used Simplicity 8090 View D for the top, and Simplicity 8092 View B for the culottes! I've had this top pattern in my stash for a couple years, and never got around to it! While I was looking for a cute top to go with the culottes, I came across it and loved View D. I like that its kinda a crop top, but not to short. I like that it had sleeves, and its kind of boxy! So I decided to give it a go and I love it!
It came together really quickly. I can definitely see myself making more of these. I wear a lot of t-shirts but this is a cute option to keep me casual but a little more put together. I did the tab in the back, but I'll omit that in the next makes. Cute detail, but its not needed for me.
For the culottes, I cut the size 20. While I like the look, I do think I could've graded at the hip to the 22 for a little more room. I also noticed after I made these that I will probably begin to buy bottom patterns (pants, culottes etc.) that have a flat front instead of pleats. I don't like the excess around the "pouch" area! I've made Simplicity 8092 before but I made the skirt View E, and I remember feeling the same way about the pleats then! LOL So now its official, flat fronts from now on....or until I find a pleat front I like! LOL!
