Perfect Spring Top: Simplicity 8601

Hey everybody! Happy Thursday! I don't know about y'all but its one thing in my closet that I lack, and thats TOPS! I'm big on wearing t-shirts daily, but I've been wanting to step up my super casual everyday look so I've been on a search for tops that can elevate that.

I loved Simplicity 8601 immediately when I first saw! I thought it was simple yet trendy with the ties, easy to wear, and just enough of a step up from t-shirts! I knew it'd be a great pattern to start with for adding more tops to my closet so of course I made multiples! LOL! The first view I made was View A in a pink linen from Sewing Studio

View A came together great! I didn't have any problems constructing it, nor did I make any pattern adjustments. I cut the size 16 and I'm happy with the fit! The back is closed with a elastic loop, and button. I omitted the elastic and did a chain thread loop following along with Erica Bunker Youtube tutorial. This small little detail is one that I've been wanting to do for so long, and Erica video was perfect walking me through it! So happy with it!

View C on the pattern is probably the popular one, because of the ties on the sleeves. I love them too however were a pain trying to sew! I have the hardest time getting nice pointed corners around curves. It's not perfect but I'm happy with it! I use a Navy Rayon Challis from LaFinch Fabrics for this top, and I love it! I cut the same size 16, and used the thread loop instead of the elastic loop for this one as well.

I'm so happy with this pattern! It's very beginner friendly, and I plan to make maybe one more, before I find another great top pattern to make multiples of! LOL! I also took a vote on Instagram for my next sew with me video pattern, and majority choose this pattern, so I'll have the sew along up soon!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Until next time..

Blessings
