Perfect Summer Day Top: MADE Everyday PDF Pattern
Hey hey hey, Happy Wednesday! My summer top making days are coming to an end today! I set out this summer to make some easy tops that I could wear during the season and I'm so happy with everything I made. From tie front tops, tie strap tops, ruffle tops, I definitely added some good ones to my closet! Todays top is no different but before we dive into it, you know I have to share back story first!
You all know I participated in Mister Domestic Blog Party for his Loved to Pieces AGF Collection. I had so much fun participating and was truly honored to be apart of it! Joining in on that allowed me to be introduced to other amazing creatives in our community like Dana of MADE Everyday. I first saw Dana on her YouTube channel a couple years ago and I was an instant subscriber. I love her videos, the way she teaches and all of her fun projects!
So long story short, Dana reached out, and this is my version of her new Summer Day Top PDF Pattern. Its an easy to wear boxy style top in 2 styles with 3 sleeve options and a pocket. Super quick project to make and an easy sew for all levels, beginners included.
I made my top using the short sleeve and peplum pieces. This top goes up to a 52' bust so if you decide to make one, pay attention to your measurements. I cut the size 10 and its just the right amount of flowy and boxy like I wanted. Originally, I was going to shorten the peplum, but I'm glad I left it because it'll be great for skinny jeans at this length.
For fabric, I used a Striped Cotton Linen I found at my local Hobby Lobby. Its a super lightweight and comfy! Worked great for this summer top! I wanted to play with the stripes so I used self-bias tape for the neckline and folded it over to the right side, and I cut the pocket on the bias too!
I paired the top with my Simplicity 8134 pull on pants. I made these earlier this year but never blogged about them. They just got lost in my piles of projects, but these pants are fabulous. I made view E and love the wide leg! Wearing these pieces together felt like chic secret pajamas! I should make a couple more each ;) !!!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Until next time...
Blessings
