dark fern green corduroy overalls: sew it academy course
Hey everybody! I hope you had a great weekend! Today I’m sharing these super cute overalls that I made from the October Course in the Sew It Academy. If you don’t know what Sew It Academy is, it’s an online sewing and design school founded by Mimi G Ford. I enrolled in this Academy as soon as it launched back in 2016 and now I’m a Beginner/Intermediate Instructor in the Academy. For this months course, we created a pair of overalls!
In the Course, we modified a basic pant pattern which is a great option for beginner/intermediate sewers however advanced sewers could use a pant sloper and create the same modifications. We walked step by step through fitting and trying on our muslins, and drafted the other pattern pieces for the overalls! This lesson also gave options for designing the overalls for your own personal style. So if you like a detachable bib or long criss cross straps in the back, these options were discussed and shown how to create as well!
For fabric, I used this Dark Fern Green Corduroy from The Fabric Store Online. I was in love with this color! I think it’s beautiful and I know I will have a lot of fun creating looks for Fall with it!
I styled these overalls with my McCalls 7838 White Linen Shirt, my camel hat from Amazon and Old Navy clogs (option)!
Well that’s all for today! Thank you so much for stopping by! If you’re like to sign up for Sew It Academy, you can click here and try the Free Trial today!
