Bonfire Kimono: Simplicity 8648: Mister Domestic Aura Collection
Hey everybody! Happy Friday!! I hope you had a fabulous week! I am so excited for this post because Mister Domestic Aura Blog Party is stopping here today!! Last year, I had the pleasure of joining his first fabric collection launch (Loved To Pieces Collection) so I was beyond excited and eager to join this one!
His collection was inspired by a family Hawaiian adventure and I think he totally nailed it with the all vibrant colors and beautiful prints!
For my make, I wanted something lightweight that would be perfect for Spring, so I used the Aloha Spirit Bonfire Rayon from this collection. I’m a lover of rayon so I knew this was the perfect fabric. The colors in this are amazing, and I loved creating with it!
I use Simplicity 8648 to make this and I’m really happy with the way it all came together! If you look at the pattern, you’ll see that its a kimono lol! I originally made it as a kimono (loved it) but after I took photos in it, I kind felt something was off. I don’t know it was my styling or what but I became curious as to what it would look like as a dress. So I stitched the center down a couple inches, and I LOVE it even more now! LOL!
I cut the pattern bodice at a 16 and merged over to the 18 for the waist and it fits perfect! I felt amazing in this and I will probably make another before I put this pattern away!
I just love it!!! Well that’s all for today! Thank you so much for stopping by! Below is a list of AMAZING makers that have already shared their awesomeness for the blog tour and those that are coming up! Be sure to visit and see what they created with Mister Domestic Aura Collection.
