pink jumpsuit: vogue 1994

Hi friends! Today I am sharing a jumpsuit that I started working on at the beginning of February but finished at the end of March lol! I shared in my newsletter that February/March turned out to be some busy and overwhelming months so this project had to sit for a while. I lost my excitement for it and almost didn’t finish but I decided to prioritize it with a little #sewin30 last week and I got it done. I love this jumpsuit so much! I loved it when it was first released and loved it even more on me. It’s cute, casual, comfy and great for my everyday style. Let’s get into the details….

the details

Pattern Used: I used Vogue 1994 for this jumpsuit.

Pattern Description: A Rachel Coney Design. Loose-fitting jumpsuit with belt has front waist pleats, exposed front zipper, pointed collar, front pockets, elastic back waist, topstitching and stitched hems. (description from Simplicity website)

Pattern Sewing Level: This pattern is rated Average.

What size did you cut?: I cut the size L around the bust, XL around the waist and XXL around the hips.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes. The instructions and illustrations were great. I had no problems following along with them.

What did you like or dislike about the pattern? I love this pattern and I don’t have any dislikes about it. Like I said, I loved it from the first time I saw it and knew I was going to make it. While sewing it, I realized I don’t have that much experience with exposed zippers like I do invisible zippers. So this was a nice change as far as zipper installs go.

Did you make any pattern adjustments: Other than merging between the pattern lines, I did not make any adjustments. I did find the pants and sleeves to be a little long so thats why I cuffed the hem. I don’t mind the cuffs but if thats not your style, check the length to make you don’t want to shorten them.

Where did you purchase the fabric(s)? This is a Twill from Melanated Fabrics (sold out).

Did you record a sew along for this pattern? No, I did not film a sew along for this jumpsuit.

Would you sew it again? Yes. I can definitely see myself making this jumpsuit again! It’s a great jumpsuit for my busy on-the-go days.

Would you recommend it to others? Yes. I would. I know Vogue patterns can be intimidating for some (they were for me) but this one was great. If you can follow instructions for sewing pockets and installing an exposed zipper, you can make this pattern.

Well that is all for today friends. Thank you all so much for stopping by the my blog today! Until next time…

Blessings,
