olive trumpet hem dress: vogue v2064
Hi everyone. Because it’s been way too long since I’ve last written about a new make, I feel like I have to say….”welcome to the blog!” lol! It’s been a while but I have 4 makes lined up to share so hopefully, I won’t be away that long again! Today, I’m sharing all about this new Vogue V2064 dress.
When I first saw this dress, I loved it! I saw a similar dress at Target and knew I was going to make it! I love all the seam lines on the dress and I think it’s really flattering. Let’s jump into the details because I’m excited about this one!
the details
Pattern Used: I used Vogue V2064 for this dress. You can shop the pattern here!
Pattern Description: Close-fitting dresses with length and sleeve variations have trumpet hem, princess seaming, high rolled collar, invisible back zipper, topstitching and stitched hems. View A has extra-long sleeves with thumb holes. View B is sleeveless and has cut-in shoulders and armhole bands. *description from Simplicity.com
Pattern Sewing Level: Sewing level for this pattern is Average.
What size did you cut? I cut the size 20 for the bust, 22 for the waist and 24 for the hips.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, I found the instructions easy to follow and the illustrations were great too.
What did you like or dislike about the pattern? Again, all the seam lines and how they curved on the dress really sold me on this pattern. I love the turtleneck, thumbhole and the trumpet hem as well. It also has a sleeveless and maxi length which will be great for a Spring make. No dislikes about the pattern.
Did you make any pattern adjustments: I did not make any adjustments other than merging the pattern lines for my measurements. I will say that I found the bottom of the sleeves to be a little loose. If I make this again (and I plan too), I will take them in some around the hem so they fit a little better around my hand.
Where did you purchase the fabric(s)? I used a Rayon Jersey for this dress. It was lightweight, soft and had lots of drape.
Did you record a sew along for this pattern? Yes, I did. You can watch it here.
Would you sew it again? Yes! I absolutely will make this again!
Would you recommend it to others? Yes. It’s a great dress. Easy to sew up. It has an invisible zipper in the center back seam, so if you can install an invisible zipper, you can make this! If you don’t know how to install an invisible zipper, I have a video here to help.
Thank you all so much for stopping by my blog today! Until next time…
Blessings,
