Hey Friends! Welcome back to the blog! Today I’m sharing my version of Sew To Grow Sydni Shirtdress pattern. First I have to give a special thanks to Rebecca to gifting me this pattern. If you love shirtdresses but not fifty ‘leven buttonholes and buttons you’ll love this pattern. It sews up really easy, in fact, I whipped this up in 2 hours, it’s also very versatile. From a top to a dress, patch pockets, side pockets, tie, with or without a collar, you can really do a lot with this one! Let’s get into the details.

the details

I used the Sydni Shirtdress Pattern by Sew To Grow and made the dress version with the collar. I decided not to add the patch pockets because of my fabric choice. Had I used a solid fabric, I would’ve added them.

For fabric, I used a Viscose Crepe I’ve had in my stash for about 2 years now from LaFinch Fabrics! I thought the horizontal design worked great for this dress. Here’s an option here that will be great for this dress.

size + adjustments

For size, I cut the L for the top, and 2XL for the hips. I also added 6 inches to this pattern to make it more of a maxi dress.

I really loved the instructions for attaching the collar and facing for this pattern. It was simple and gave a really clean and neat finish! Below are a few close up pics of the dress.

the look

I decided not to make the tie from the pattern because I like to use my own store bought belts. I added a black belt I recently bought from Amazon and some black sandals to wear with this dress. I can totally see myself wearing this with some white sneakers and a jean jacket. Gotta love a versatile garment!

Well, that is all for today post! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! Until next time…

Blessings,
