Hey friends! Happy Monday! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! Today I am sharing my version on Mimi G new Spring Simplicity pattern 9268! When I first saw this pattern, I loved it and knew it was a MUST make! Now I don’t usually do crop tops, or show midriff but sometimes you just gotta step outside the norm! This is me stepping lol!! This pattern is super easy to make and super cute! Let’s get into the details.

the details

I made this look using Simplicity 9268 and for the fabric, I used this Linen from Melanated Fabrics. This linen is amazing! Its a Viscose Linen blend and just a dream to sew with. Yes, it wrinkles but the weight, hand and drape is fantastic. Its also available in four other colors!

size + adjustments

For size, I cut the 12 for the bust and I cut the 22 for the pants. I mistakenly bought the larger size pattern only to get home and realize I needed the smaller one for the top. I bought this pattern at regular price so I just downsized the top pattern pieces instead of going back to buy another pattern.

I did not make any adjustments to the top or pants.

tips

I highly recommend checking the back envelope for the finished garment measurements. Like I mentioned, I needed the smaller pattern, but just in case you don’t know how to downsize or grade down a pattern, you may need to get two.

I also recommend trying on your garments to adjust the elastic. My top could use a little more elastic cut off so I’ll be going back in to make it tighter.

videos

I had the opportunity to step in for Mimi G and record the sew alongs for both views on this pattern! They are live now on her YouTube channel. Click below to watch.
