Elegant Coral Knit Dress: Simplicity 8292
Hey hey hey!! Happy hump day!!! I hope your week has been great so far! Justice 2nd birthday is Monday, so I've been planning out what we'll be doing for her big day!! Along with her birthday next week, Mimi G sewing conference is that weekend and I can not wait to get there and see all my sew sisters!!
Today I'm sharing with you Simplicity 8292!! This dress screams elegant to me!! It's simple but very classy!! I think the flutter sleeves is what really makes it special!! I love that the skirt of the dress is cut with side front/back pieces. It allows for me to grade my pattern better in specific areas (hips are fuller on left side than right) and get the fit I like.
For fabric, I went with this Ponte Knit from CaliFabrics. I originally wanted to make Vogue 1452 with this fabric, but decided to use it for this pattern instead. This dress will be perfect for a nice evening out, and summer weddings.
I had no problems constructing it and the pattern instructions were easy to follow along with. I would recommend this pattern to sewers that are confident with inserting zippers, and sewing a bodice lining. The skirt and bodice of this dress have A LOT of seam lines that need to line up perfectly. I had to unpick a few times to match a couple lines up better, so make sure to pin, and take your time when stitching the bodice and skirt together!
Thank you so much for stopping by today!! I'll be working on our Sew With Me video for Friday today, and recording for next weeks video too!! Have a great day, I'll talk to you in the next post!!
Blessings
