Black and Yellow Collection : Look 3 : McCalls 7333

Hey Friends! Happy FRIDAY!! I hope you had a great week! I'm looking forward to this weekend! I plan to sleep in, sew and catch up on my lessons in the Sew It Academy....oh and edit! You all are loving these black wide leg pants, so I'll work to get that video up a publish next week!

Today I'm sharing the last piece of my Black and Yellow collection. If you missed Day 1 and Day 2, be sure to check those out! I made a dress, top, and pants, but this jacket is my FAVORITE! This piece was not a part of the plan because I only purchased the floral double brushed knit, mustard liverpool knit, and black corduroy (didn't use). While I was deciding patterns, I noticed this gorgeous linen  (fabric options: here) in my stash from The Fabric Store and it fit in perfect with the collection.

The pattern I used was McCalls 7333 View A. This is a great pattern. I'm already picturing this jacket worn with jeans and a t-shirts all spring/summer long. It has a self lined hood, cuff sleeves, pockets, and an elastic waist casing! The instructions are well-written and easy to follow. The only part that gave me trouble was the neck and shoulder seams. I prefer neck and shoulder seams to be separate, not one long seam where you sew and pivot at dots! Not a fan. but hey I got through it and I love the finished look!

I LOVE the hood on this jacket! Its my favorite detail about it! The pants are McCalls 7726 and I wrote about them here.

Thank y'all so much for all the love for my first collection! I had so much fun creating these pieces. I can't wait to do more through year, in fact I'm already planning my next one!!

Blessings
