another one: mccalls 7969

Hey friends! Today I am sharing a dress that I have made a couple times already and it none other than McCall’s 7969! This dress is a TNT (tried and true) pattern for me and I love it! I like to wear comfy, versatile, casual garments and this one is perfect! Lets get into the details…

details

This pattern is McCall’s 7969. Fun fact: this is one of McCall’s top selling patterns lol! You either love it or hate it lol! The is a very loose-fitting, pullover dress with some sleeve variations, neck binding, raised waistline, and narrow hem. You do have to do bit of gathering but its not too much.

size

I cut the size XL. It fits great and I made no adjustments to it. If you find that the opening is too much, I recommend lapping the front over a little more that the patterns instructs. Just note if you do that, to make sure it will still fit your waist. You can also add a snap there to keep it closed.

fabric

For fabric I used this Baby Noil! It is a Viscose Linen blend fabric and it’s so lightweight, drapes amazingly and it’s perfect for Spring/Summer garments. We have several colors of this fabric in stock at Melanated Fabrics.

Well, thats all for today! I will probably make this again because like I said it’s a TNT pattern for me! If you’d like to make one too, you can follow along with me in a sew along below! Until next time,

Blessings,
