Floral Denim Shirtdress: McCalls 6696

Happy Wednesday!!! Hope all is going well for you this week!! I'm currently in my "so much to do, let me just sit here and do nothing" phase!! LOL!! Packing has got to be on my "Top 5 List" of things I don't like doing!!! But I'm excited to get home to relax a bit, and then off to LA!!

Today, we're talking about McCalls 6696! You all know I LOVE shirt dresses!! They weren't always easy for me, and sometimes the collar still gives me problems, but they are my favorite dress to sew and wear!! For this dress, I used a floral lightweight denim from Joann. I use to be all about solid fabrics when I first started sewing, but now I'll take good print, especially florals any day!!

McCalls 6696 has many options including separate cup pattern pieces for a better fit through the bust. I didn't want the full skirt for my shirtdress, so I went with View C and added View D sleeves w/o the cuff. I did my normal pattern adjustment of graded the bust, waist and hips to fit my measurements. Bust was cut at 16, waist cut at 18, and hips cut at 22.

Like I said before, I love shirt dresses, so I will always recommend them!!! LOL! It is a lot of steps so if shirt dresses are new to you, I suggest doing a couple steps per day. 5-6 steps here and there, and before you know it, you'll be done!

Here's the line drawing from the pattern...

Thank you so much for stopping by! I pray you have a great rest of the week, and I'll talk to you in the next post!!

Blessings
