Everyday Olive Green Dress: McCalls 7115
Hey everybody! A couple weeks back, I was walking through Walmart fabric section (because I just can’t help myself anymore) and saw this solid olive green cotton fabric. I didn’t have a vision for it at that time; I just knew I wanted it! I created a “sew board” the beginning of the year of some patterns I’ve been wanting to sew but didn’t get around to last year, and hung it over my sewing area. McCalls 7115 happened to be up there! I really like the easiness of this dress! I can just throw it on with some sandals or sneakers and be out the door!
This pattern was a very easy sew and these are the pattern adjustments I made to create my look:
I originally cut an XXL skirt. The pattern calls for gathering in the skirt, so I omitted that step because gathering causes extra fullness that’s not flattering for me. So I cut 12 inches from both sides of the skirt.
Added pockets

This was the first time I sewed buttons on using my sewing machine and I feel ridiculous for being nervous about trying it! If you’re new to sewing and haven’t grabbed a pattern with buttons yet, this is an easy one to start with.
I’ll talk to you in the next post!
Blessings
