Little Black Dress: Simplicity 8425
Hey Friends! Happy Sunday! Hope you're enjoying your weekend!! During the giveaway last week, I was able to get A LOT of sewing done! I made 4 things that I'll be sharing as my last looks for the year! The first one is this Simplicity 8425 dress!
Months before this pattern was released, I saw this choker v-neck design and LOVED IT! I tried my hand at drafting it with some scrap fabric, and it was a fail! LOL! So needless to say, I was all over this pattern when it was available!
I really enjoyed making this dress! The instructions were easy to follow along with, and it came together great! If you can install a zipper, and facings then you can definitely make this dress! For fabric, I used Cotton Lyrca from The Fabric Store! I love this fabric! Its a great stable knit, with awesome recovery!
This pattern goes up to a size 20 with a finished hip measurement of 47.5". My hip is currently 48.5" and I like to have at least an extra 1"- 1.5" for a comfort fit! So I ended up adding 2 inches to the hip. To do this, I added half an inch to the back and front pattern pieces at the hip area. I also cut the 18 for the bust/sleeves and graded to the 20 around the waist and over to the added inches for hips.
Thanks for stopping by! I pray you're having a relaxing Sunday and getting excited to make the upcoming week amazing!!
Blessings
